The enjoyment of your flight experience and your safety are our main priorities. Our pilots are experienced and have extensive local area knowledge. The Wild West Helicopters ownership has been operating and maintaining helicopter fleets for over 25 years and follows all safety regulations.
Our flights are subject to favorable weather conditions. The weather can change rapidly in the Grand Canyon and surrounding area; the pilot/guide has the right to cut a trip short due to weather-related concerns. Unless specified, most of our tours may be changed or canceled without penalty up to 48 hours prior to departure subject to availability. Based on the latest aviation weather forecasts and responsible pilot decision making, it is ultimately up to the pilot in command whether to cancel the flight or not.
If canceled due to poor weather, you will be given the option of an alternative date or full refund. You may reschedule at a time and day convenient for you if it does not conflict with an existing booking. Operating times must fall within daylight hours — up to 20 minutes prior to sunrise and up to 10 minutes after sunset. Please note the state of Arizona does not use Daylight Saving Time (DST). Please check to ensure you are aware of the time in Arizona on the day of your adventure. Confirmation is received at the time of booking unless booked within one day of travel. In this case, a confirmation will be received as soon as possible, subject to availability.
Passenger Weight & Age Requirements
All passenger weights must be advised at time of booking, and all passengers will be weighed at the time of check-in. Adult pricing applies to all travelers. Minimum age is 2 years old. Children age 2 years and older require a seat per FAA regulations. Children over the age of 2 will be required to purchase a seat.
Adult U.S. passengers (18 and older) are required to show U.S. federal or state-issued valid photo ID, and non-U.S. passengers must present a foreign government-issued valid passport. Children under the age of 2 are required to have proof of age (passport or birth certificate).
Helicopters have maximum weight capacity regulations as well as other restrictions regarding the balance of the aircraft, which help to ensure the safety of all our guests. For helicopter flights, passengers weighing over 275 pounds will be required to purchase an additional seat at 100% of the applicable retail price (plus taxes and other fees). The maximum weight limit per person is 350 pounds, and the total passenger weight on each helicopter may not exceed 800 pounds (four passengers). Passengers over the weight limit and/or exceeding stated body weights may be subject to cancellation at the time of check-in. All passengers are subject to approval by the Pilot in Command and are not guaranteed a flight/excursion. Passenger weights include any items that will be carried on the flight, such as cameras, backpacks, and other accessories. Passengers weighing 300 pounds (136.36kg / 21.43 stone) or more will be charged a fee for an additional comfort seat. This fee is based on the product and ranges from $50 to $200.
